have totally misunderstood what I have read, there are competing schools of thought in a great many mishnayos. Rabbi Yehudah (not Rebbe) seems to have a

1. Rabbi Yehudah Hanassi needed to cloak an *ocean* of Oral Tradition into a brief, codified text that one could study and be able to traverse that entire
ocean. Of all the collected volumes lectures, court cases and religious conversations Rabbi Yehudah selected the ones that would accomplish his goal. The ones
that ended up within that text are called mishnayos and the ones excluded were collected and referred to as beraisos [or beraitot].
