An Incredible Event | ||
|
This year's First International Noachide Conference was incredible. I have been to many conferences over the years and in my opinion this is the best
there's ever been. Between the comradery of the Noachides and the teachings of the Rabbis and scholars. At all hours of the night you could find little
pockets of individuals having converstations together. I was on my way to bed one night and got off on my floor to discover right outside of the elevator one
of the Rabbis surrounded by 4 or 5 people and they were all learning Torah togetheer. Soon we had closer to 10 people; all of them sitting around learning
Torah next to the elevators until the wee hours of the morning.
Rabbi Chaim Richman gave a lecture on Sunday concerning Noachide Halachah that I feel was one of the most important speeches. It was a lecture that encouraged Noachides to reach beyond the seven, but at the same time encouraged us not to force others to go beyond theirr own level. It also discussed the conclusion of the Noachide Beit Din in Israel which felt that many American slaughter methods allow Ever Min HaChai meat to be sold. Therefore, it was suggested that Noachides buy Hallel or Kosher meats. Rabbi Hollander gave us his vision. His vision was of expanding Noachide communities, and these communities could be built through active Noachide keiruv efforts. I could go into each of the lectures but they'll all be available on noahidenations.com soon for purchase. I think all of the lectures are worth owning, I was there and I'm probably going to buy a copy of each of the lectures. This was an Incredible event. AP |

What is the difference between "keiruv" and "proselytizing"?

קירוב (Kiruv) means to draw closer. It doesn't mean to change someone or to convert someone. This is the opposite of proselytize, which per Dictionary.com:
proselytize \PROS-uh-luh-tyz\, intransitive verb: 1. To induce someone to convert to one's religious faith. 2. To induce someone to join one's
institution, cause, or political party. transitive verb: 1. To convert to some religion, system, opinion, or the like.
And everything that Sarah tells you, listen to her voice. Genesis, 21:12

b'nai Noach trying to take over the world! | ||
|
There is a story that has been going around in xian circles for the past, oh---a hundred years or so, that "the Jews are trying to take over the world and
destroy xianity", yada, yada, yada. Now, with the publication of the Worldwide Noachide Conference, they have linked b'nai Noach to this story. As
Jews have borne the brunt of anti-Judaic actions and beliefs from these people, so shall b'nai Noach be prepared to suffer the same fate.

However, there are positives as more and more Christians are turning towards Torah. In fact, I recently came to learn of two missionaries who have become Noahides. One was a missionary to China and helped smuggle Bibles into China. The other was a person who did general missionary work. Exciting stuff. The Jewish people aren't trying to take over the world--Hashem already owns the world. Hashem is the one who is in charge of the world secular governments do not really matter. In the Messianic era the nations will heed the wisdom of Israel not because they have the biggest bombs but because they have the wisdom of the Torah. Only an idiot would ignore the teachings of God and Israel has been the guardians of God's teachings for thousands of years. Whatever the political situation will be is in my opinion irrelevant. I just want to learn the words of Hashem's Torah and I'm glad that Hashem has provided me with such incredible teachers (the Jewish people). AP |

Even with 2,800 of you chasing every single Jew (i.e. ten speakers of all the 70 languages of the World trying to grab hold of all four of his tzitziyyot - see Z'charyah 8:23 and Rashi ad loc.), I'm still not sure there will be enough of us. http://mordochai.tripod.com - פרופ' מָרְדֳּכַי בֶּן-צִיּוֹן, יְרוּשָׁלַיִם, אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל |
