Not necessarily. Remember that elections were only called in the first place because she could not muster the necessary 61-seats to form a coalition. This is not likely to have changed in only a few months. Netanyahu/Likud, on the other hand, has a larger bloc of potential parties to form a coalition than Livni/Kadima. Also, do not forget that exit polls showed Livni crushing Mofaz in the Kadima elections, when in reality she only narrowly defeated him even within her own party.

You may be right:
Livni may not be able to form gov't due to large right-wing bloc

This means the strategic Golan Heights going back to Syria and everyone there being evicted, Jerusalem will be divided once again and more eviction of Jews, and further give-backs on the west bank of the Jordan river and still more evictions of Jews. If this is her starting position, G-d help us! UriYosef

If Livni does win we can only blame the moron voters who elect her. Why anyone would vote for a Palestinian sympathizer is beyond my scope of reason and logic.

oth parties claim victory and race to form rival coalitions | |||||
Both parties claim victory and race to form rival coalitionsThis reminds me of the old Jewish joke. A Jew is stranded on a desert island for 30 years. He is finally rescued and the rescuers are amazed that, all alone, he has built a little city! They marvel at all the buildings and then they notice two Synagogues. "You're all alone!" they exclaimed, "why do you have TWO Synagogues?" To which the Jew replies "One I daven in and the other I wouldn't be seen dead in." Yep. A lot like Israel.

It is important to note that many in the world are sympathetic to the Arab Palestinians, and not all of them do it for cynical reasons (ie. antisemitism).
Unfortunately the mythical narrative has been perpetuated to the point of becoming the lie so big it can't possibly be untrue. The facts and history are
all out there for anyone to read, but the mythical narrative is too engrained in many for them to even bother looking for the cause. From Time
Immemorial by Joan Peters and Battleground: Fact & Fantasy in Palestine by Sh'muél Katz should both be required reading.

I was under the impression that politics was a banned topic in these forums . . . . http://mordochai.tripod.com - פרופ' מָרְדֳּכַי בֶּן-צִיּוֹן, יְרוּשָׁלַיִם, אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל |

Nope. No rule against discussing politics. There is a rule:
12. Posts regarding the Israeli / Arab conflict are inappropriate as this is a forum dedicated to Jewish education and not political debate.

Well, as the person who MADE the rules -- I agree with you completely!
This falls more under "news" than politics. But I couldn't agree more that this is not a place for political debate.

Well, after actually reading the news of the day, it seems like the least stable job in Israel is that of Prime Minister. In other words, I am sure that unless
the Moshioch arrives, there will be elections again soon.
