When I hear Jews speaking on the inherit holiness that resides within the letters; that certain letters represent things, contain other letters imbedded in them, and Kabbalistic concepts like what is found in Sefer yetzirah that G-d created the world with letters I have a hard time believing it. Why? Not that it seems farfetched that a language and its alphabet could be holy but that the alphabet we use today is a product of the golus in Bavel. Hebrew originally had a different alphabet, (palaeo Hebrew) did it not? How could the modern alphabet holy if it was taken from a pagan source?
