Thank you for your open-heartedness.

My answers are sincere, too, not meant to offend. This particular discussion frankly doesn't belong on this thread -- we can take it up on other threads.

You HAVE touched on one of the real sore points in my own relations with Christianity. However, I am not going to pursue that -- not that particular one -- on this board anywhere. If everyone posting here were like you, and CK, and mark, and batia, we might could do it. As things stand, this one particular question (which I haven't even identified!) stays within my prayers, and within my discussions with my pastor and people -- "my people", "my REAL people" -- at church.

Everything else you mentioned in that post, either can, will, or already [is] be[ing] discussed on other threads. In particular, I will shortly try to engage Sophiee re: the "don't touch that dial!" issue. Um -- that'll come up on the "Take Jesus to Macdonalds" thread.

The basic thing is that Christians begin with a completely different set of premises; most notably, as regards what you asked, about Torah. Our view of Torah is so different from yours that ... well, it's all but unimaginable. By which I mean, y'all are hardly capable of even imagining what our view of Torah is, and vice versa.

I will, per plans that have been in place now for several weeks, post about that on this thread soon.
