Hi Sophiee, So instead you continue to ignore *****ure which plainly tells you it is Cyrus as recorded by Ezra in 1:1-4 and Ezra 5:13-17.

Daniel didn't mention neither Cyrus nor even Jeremiah in his prayer to God, which began in verse 9:3 and continued through verse 9:19, but the restoration of Jerusalem and the continual disobediance of the Children of Israel in their sins in violation of the covenant.

Everything the angel said to Daniel in response to his PRAYER. So that has to be takened into consideration.

The 49 years is the amount of time it would take to restore Jersualem - and that was what the angel Gabriel communicated to Daniel - in regards to restoring the city. And Nehemiah got permission from Artaxeres to that effect in gaining permission to cut down trees from the royal forest.

Nehemiah2:5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.

According to your Hebrew Scriptures, the commandment to restore Jerusalem and the return of the Jews came through more than one king and over many years. Even if a person wishes to identify the commandment as the going forth of God's word, that word went forth over a period of time that included touching the heart of Artaxeres, such that Nehemiah was given permission to go back and re-build the city and wall. So I take Artaxeres's decree as completing the going forth of the word, because Artaxeres's heart had to be touched also.

Nehemiah 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

The completion of the wall is recorded in Nehemiah 12:27-31

12:27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
12:28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;
12:29 Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.
12:30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
12:31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:

The 49 years would be the amount of time for the complete restoration of Jerusalem - since that was the thrust of Daniel's prayer in verse 9:3-19.

The messiah's (anointed one) arrival, in Daniel 9:25, was in regards to the other issue that Daniel prayed about and that was the continual sin of the Children of Israel. Nehemiah made the same prayer in Nehemiah 1:4-10. You do believe that the messiah will make it possible to obey God's commands, don't you, Sophiee? And after all, that was what Daniel was praying about - the Children of Israel's shortcoming in that area.

So the remainder of Daniel 9 in verses 26 and 27 are about the messiah and completion of the 70 weeks which would bring in everlasting righteousness - so that the Children of Israel would be obediant.
