Hi shmelke, I asked you the same question you ask me, except with putting the emphasis on the 62 weeks instead of the 7 weeks.
I said there is no reason for the 2 time frames according to the KJV translation. I didn't say I accept the KJV translation. Look at an accurate translation above. There is nothing awkward. A first messiah comes after 7 weeks. A second comes after 62 weeks.
You didn't really answer why it is not just 69 weeks in verse 26 - even using your "accurate" translation. There is no reason to mention 62 weeks, in verses 25 and 26, unless the 7 weeks is for the rebuilding of Jerusalem.
Why was not Cyrus mentioned
by name
in verse 25, since he was prophesied by name ahead of his time - if indeed he was the anointed in verse 25?
