God in the "OT" ... condones slavery and order the mas acre of women and infants and so on. How do you answer it

Slavery: I answer it by educating the questioner regarding the Torah institution of slavery, which is considerably more humane and rehabilitative than the modern American institutions of prison and welfare.

Killing of women and infants: I answer it by reminding the questioner that the Torah itself records why the killing was necessary and unavoidable, for that specific society/culture in that specific time and place. I also challenge the questioner to present a realistic alternative plan that would have worked, for that specific society/culture in that specific time and place; no questioner has been able to do so.

Finally, I recognize that some questioners are unable to mentally remove themselves from their technologically modern and culturally liberal frame of reference - and so they are unable to appreciate the severe, practical limitations of a long ago time and place. No answer of mine will satisfy those unfortunate questioners.
