Thank you for responding, Arik, and for bringing this thread back to its original point.

In the case of the seven nations

Historically, are you saying that Rome eradicated the last of the seven nations?

As for Amalek... every enemy of the Jewish people has been "Amalek" either via lineage or via character.

Good point. "To destroy the seed of Amalek" is one of the taryag mitzvot, although I understand its binding application can be described such as by Rambam - destruction only if they refuse to coexist as a civilized (Noachide laws) society/culture.

My point is that many of the injunctions were not performed in the same way xians THINK they were or SHOULD be done. Again, the Oral Torah and the ENTIRE History should be reviewed.

I agree, and thank you for offering historical context (please clarify above).

In the Talmud, our Rabbis do argue on one another as to HOW this or that taryag mitzvah could or should be binding given a particular time and place (eg, after the plain textual application of a mitzvah has been fulfilled and completed) - arguments that are often only conceptually rooted in the plain meaning of the text.

My original point in this thread is that - for some people (Jew and Gentile alike) - there is an almost unbridgable gap of understanding - of "progressive" mindset / emotional conditioning - created in large part by the "multicultural" academic movement that is blinded to the possibility of truly evil societies/cultures which (1) can not be rehabilitated or reasoned into civilized (Noachide laws) coexistence; (2) can not be physically contained; and (3) pose an existential threat to the world's civilized societies/cultures.

For these people, it would take a paradigm shift on their part, for us to be able to satisfy them with any response other than a condemnation of the Torah's depiction of God. So I have no answer for them.
