Hi Sophiee, Dougg, Titus is after the 62 Shavuim, not the 70th. From the Artscroll footnote:

Right, but that is not what I had written.

Actually there is. According to what I hear from Judaism, assuming I am understanding the Jewish view correctly, Titus made the last week covenant of Daniel 9:26-27. Count back 483 years from then... the 70 weeks will have begun "after" Daniel received the messsage.

I had written 483 years. 62 weeks + 7 weeks = 69 weeks

69weeks x 7 = 483 years.

So counting back 483 years from Titus's time and when the temple and santuary were destroyed...to know when the counting of the 70 weeks began, using the premise of Titus being the one who confirmed the convenant in 9:26-27.

So the beginning of the count of the 70 weeks was "after" Daniel received the message. Using the premise that Titus is the one who confirmed the convenant.

Am I wrong that Judaism views Titus as the one who confirmed the covenant in Daniel 9:26-27 ?

Sincerely,

Doug L.
