Disciplinary action

All -

It seems that some of our participants don't understand, or don't want to play by the rules of our discussion boards.

We have had cases of "hit 'n run" attacks, or repeated flagrant violations of the rules of decent conduct - those people generally get permanently banned.

We've also recently have experienced behaviors which have drawn warnings of consequences, but compliance has not been very good. In a couple instances, people were permanently banned, others have been requested yet again to not repeat the objectionable conduct.

We have now initiated yet another way of disciplining repeated violators of proper conduct. Individuals who are unwilling to comply with our rules will receive an initial suspension of one (1) week. The next stemp will be a permanent ban.

Hopefully, this will help them understand that our boards are for civilized discussions of topics that pertain to each board, respectively, and not a soapbox for attemped evangelism (overt or covert), denigrating Judaism and insulting our Sages, and misusing and misrepresenting the works of our Sages and scholars to try and justify and promote their own theological beliefs.

We have started to apply these measures and will continue to do so, although it is our sincere hope that such actions will remain minimal. If anyone has a problem with our rules and actions, perhaps it is time for them to move on to other discussion boards.

PS - I would like to remind ALL participants here that personal attacks on other participants are not acceptable conduct. It is difficult at times to separate the "chaff" from the "wheat" and, unfortunately, some of these slip by the moderators, and posts are released which should have been either edited or deleted. We shall try to improve our screening process.
