HADASSAH:
Prayers for your whole family and a misheberach for your wife Yaffa bat Sarah. (you did not make a typo in your earlier post, when making a misheberach the mother's name is used.)

I hope your rabbi and congregation are helping you and your family. Perhaps they are making arrangements with people closer to you geographically.

REUVEN:
Thank you, chaver. We can definitely all use the prayer, including our daughter....She too, is overwhelmed by all of this and it's hard being concerned with all of this and my own needs as well.

We have received two calls from Jewish families who live 20 miles from us. Both came today while we were at the hospital during Jennie's infusion. I will be calling them back this afternoon when we return from the appointment with the surgeon.

I am having one heck of a time focusing as well. This is especially troubling because when I pray, I'm usually not distracted at all....nowadays, distraction is a personality trait, so it seems. I couldn't remember various things over the last few days as well....

I have a pretty bad memory as it is but with all of what's going on, I think I'm being more affected. I am writing myself notes to remember all of what needs to be done each day, the night before and as they come up. I never had to do this before.

HADASSAH:
Don't neglect your own health at this time, you need all your strength to take care of your wife.

REUVEN:
Yaknow, you're not the first person to tell me this and it became clear to me why, the other day and again last night.

As you know, I'm a diabetic with hypertension and Panic/Anxiety. Well...I forgot to take any medication twice in the last 10 days and those days were hairy...I didn't realize why people were actually telling me to take care of myself until the first time and then when I did it again last night.

HADASSAH:
Let those around you help you (it's a mitzvah) they truly care about you. Let them help you and everything will work out ok.

REUVEN:
We have friends here who have called, stopped by to visit and so on. We're grateful for all of them and how they've helped us.

Jennie is recovering, slowly. This event has taught us both so much and it's as if we're learning something new every day or so. Some of our friends who are a older than we are have given us both great advice on how to get through this and more importantly, how to help our daughter get through this.

Thanks again, Hadassah. Your prayers and thoughts are much appreciated.
