If someone thinks I've goofed up on the cites, some specific examples might be better than a summary dismissal.
I think I gave some good enough illustrations of situations in which or from which humanity needs "saving," in the initial post.
Other examples are available from, I would think, almost anyone's personal "story." Went through one myself right on this board last year (April to June), involving an individual who I thought was my friend (Hmm. Anyone else have stories like that, around here?) - turns out I was thoroughly mistaken.
Many of those cites make reference to obviously individual,
personal
enemies. Who are those enemies? What does salvation look like, in those contexts?
The word may have many meanings, many applications. Limiting oneself to one or two may be an error.
