Somethings missing here.
Something you need.
Certainly, it seems, Ive got it, and you dont.
But I dont know what it is.
If I knew what it was, and could hand it to you,
I sure would. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Re: Righteousness

The scandal of the cross, of incarnation, of "creation as an open system" -- of a God who is or can be wounded -- is no less offensive to Christians than to anyone else. That's the premise of Moltmann's book.{1} But it does, for me, point to a problem I've seen on this board -- as regards its mission.

I have posted any number of whole or partial horror stories here. And sh*t, I've hardly started, compared to what I've got on hand. Comes from being there -- which I am -- where I am -- where my (shul) (at tremendous cost) has chosen to remain. Comes from having a belief system that enables and empowers being there; per other posts of mine on the "FFU" thread.{2}

No Jew ever responds, really, to ANY of those stories. Why?

A certain individual who's quite active in CM stuff -- I've read a good deal of this person's story at different places on the Net -- and have concluded that, in the end, it don't add up; that the person is being much less than candid. This individual fusses and fumes about missionary "predation" and "deceit," but the fact is (I surmise) that at the time the missionaries "attacked," this person was HOMELESS, HUNGRY and ADDICTED. And in short, in this time and place of need, Christians were; Jews weren't.

It's that simple.
