Well, for one thing: we wouldn't be here if He hadn't created us!

G-d is "in charge." There wouldn't be an earth, people, day, night, etc. without G-d.

We are not animals. We possess an intellect and a soul -- those come from G-d. Your eternal soul comes from the breath of G-d. It is a spark of holiness. Without it you would be just another animal.

Your eternal soul is pure. It is 100% "good." Although we have an inclination to evil, we don't need to be "saved" because at our core we are all good.

THIS is what we need G-d for. And we need Him and His Torah to learn and grow so that we can be good at more than our core. Prayer, good deeds, turning to G-d -- all of these things get us closer to our core being -- our eternal soul.

"Ask Moses" puts it well. They say, "Remember Star Wars?" "Use the force, Luke"? G-d is like the force, we can tap into His goodness, His knowledge. We can grow in holiness.

THIS is what we need G-d for.

We are His creation. Without Him we understand nothing. Without Him we wouldn't even "be."
