From what I am hearing, anything that suggests that Rebbe is Moshiach ben David, the final redeemer, is coming down. Shal and I are involved at a Lubavitch site where a number of the participants think that Rebbe is Moshiach. (I try to be polite and not tell them I think they are a brick shy of a load but Shal is a little more blunt. :lol ) The threads are not monitored unless they address that issue and then they are placed in a monitored category and are reviewed by the rabbis. I was able to get a thread through without moderator review by focusing on the time of arrival of moshiach as opposed to Rebbe and asking everyone not to argue.

The question we are addressing now is whether Rebbe ever allowed himself to be called "Moshiach." There is evidence he did though he also instructed people not to call him that. So the question becomes, if he did allow it, did he mean to allow himself to be referred to as final redeemer or as moshiach of his generation?

Some are also arguing that he was infallible. Obviously, I am opposing that one as well as the idea that he is the final redeemer.

I think the true leadership at Chabad has finally decided this needs to stop. I foresee two divisions developing. One that claims that he is Moshiach and the other that claims he is not. The ones who claim he is not believe Moshiach will be revealed soon but is someone other than Rebbe and they are the ones who seem to be in control of 770 now. :)
