Actually, the Lubavitchers have very strict rules about interaction between men and women. For example, they are not suppose to shake hands when they meet someone of the opposite gender. For many people, these rules are just too strict and they choose not to become Lubavitch even though they like many of the teachings. But they have a fascinating collection of literature and even the "layperson" has tremendous knowledge of Torah. For that reason, even if someone does not wish to convert they are great for conversations and they are very open and eager to talk with non-Lubas without trying to convince them to convert.
