Pninah, of course it is the "right thing to do." I also agree that there are many ethical atheists who do as much as any religious person.

That doesn't change the fact that many people who do good things are Xians. If we are quick to point the finger of blame at the Xians who kill in the name of their religion we should be as willing to point the finger of praise on those who do good.

Xianity is not all bad -- there are many sayings in the GT (granted you'll find them in the Tanach or Talmud, but that is besides the point) that teach people to be ethical good people.

I come back to the concept of the kidnapped child -- a large majority of Xians have no idea their religion is primarily pagan and anti-semitic. Ask those here who were once Xians. When they were Xians were they not good people?

sophiee, i agree. however, i was just addressing the one post of yours referring to those in the medical field. as far as the question: are there good xians? depends on what the definition of "good" is. ;) my father was a practicing catholic. very good man. my sister is a practicing catholic. very good woman. i find this question ironic in that xians here bend over backwards to prove they are "good" or to prove they "do good." because according to xianity and its beliefs "good" will get you no where. ;) so "good" within xianity is basically a moot point.
