sophiee, just because you would not have done this does not make them better people than you are a person. not everyone can or should take care of severely handicapped children. at this time in my life, i would not do it either. maybe years ago, but not now. however, do not forget that many xian organizations go into these countries to adopt these children for motives. their goal is to raise these children (handicapped or not) as xians. they tried this during the tsunami until the governments put a stop to it. now i wonder if the xian couple that you are speaking of will raise these children according to their culture and the religious beliefs of their biological parents and their homelands? hindus? muslims? buddhists? or xians. which do you think?

yes, it is wonderful that these children are adopted and hopefully given wonderful homes. but many times there is the underlying xian motive to these adoptions. "one more soul saved" by a xian. not to mention all the xian couples that have either become foster parents or adoptive parents and end up being charged with horrible atrocities against these children.
