There are two wonderful people who are in my math class who happen to be Christians. They are sisters and car pool together for classes every day. Both of them are quite a bit older than me and they are African-American. We are becoming quite good pals and we sit together quite often in the library doing our school work together. And we often help each other out with math as well as with other subjects.

They are extremely nice and kind. I gave them some notebooks which I have plenty of thanks to a friend and her husband. I had them in the back of my car. They seen the "Rebel-American" bumper sticker on my car along with the Israel flag and some Christian stickers which I have been chipping a way at each week with water and Goo-be-gone. They found the mix interesting and so we started a conversation. When they found out that I left Christianity for Judaism, they were very interested in hearing why. So, I explained and they enjoyed what I had to share. They liked what I said about converting to Judaism is not accepting a new religion but becoming a Jew; taken on a new idenity and more like becoming part of a tribe. And they liked hearing about how my Rabbi is a peacemaker and has done a great deal of peacemaking and Interfaith work. My friends weren't condemning at all and will speak to me without hesitation anytime we are able to talk to each other. They are good people and I am enjoying getting to know them. And I am glad they accept me for who I am and encouraged me in what I am becoming. Great folks! I like them. I'm glad they are in my math class which is at 8:00 AM. It makes for a wonderful start to the day.
