actually they do this-it's a standard missionary technique to go to, say a buddhist country, and attend religious ceremonies, to gather "intelligence", to make Yeshu appear sort of like buddha, then pounce. what I never understood is why, since Yeshu is shown celebrating most or all Jewish holidays, xians ignore all of them. they should honor them as he did. their counter, of course, is that he somehw "sealed" them, by celebrating. no nt documentation, of course. the real reason, of course, is that the church councils, when they re-invented xianity, wanted to distance themself from the jews as much as possible. feasts became fasts, and vice versa. Yeshu is recorded as celebrating hanukah, the feast of dedication, which was only 200 years old, and brand new. I have asked xians many times, the response being confusion or laughter.
