Kabbalah popped to the surface(12th c.) in Europe(France, Spain, Germany)- a "Western" area. Read "Faith of the Mithnagdim" and you'll see many suspiciously "Eastern" sounding quotes from Kabbalists(even of the Vilna Gaon variety). Today, it's epidemic how "pantheistic" so many of our people(and rabbis) sound like Buddhists, Hindus, Zennists, Taoists, with the telltale "Western" theosophical matrix.
I know what I see and hear. I can feel it in my bones. Until you can tell show me how "real" Kabbalah is not essentially "pantheism" with a Jewish patina(i.e. Jewish theosophy), then I'll continue to sing this warning song(ala Chagigah ch.2).
