Dougg,
The writings of christians you believe were heretics are the only surviving documents which tell us what christians from 120-381 ACE believed. Heretics from gnostics to modalists, from dualists to unitarians (arians), etc....all their writings still survive to this day, and yet no writings - zero - exist from christians like yourself.

The theology of Christians is found in the four gospels and writings of the nt. The early church believed what they were taught by the disciples and Paul. That continues right up until today.

You take it only on faith that there were christians like yourself from 120ACE onward. You have no proof of this assertion. Those "heretics" during those years also believed in the theology of the NT writings. They believed what they interpreted to be the teachings of the disciples and Paul. Some of their beliefs still exist up until this day. Seems THEY are the real church.

Humanly speaking there is no reason anyone would have kept a record of that sort.... because in Christianity, the record is being kept by God with 100% accuracy.

Have you written down a record of what you theologically believe, in detail, and sealed it in a time capsule for future generations so that it won't disintegrate? If not, why would you expect Christians of their time to do such a thing?

Are you serious? How is it all these other heretical teachings survived and NOTHING from people like yourself exists, despite the fact that Trinitarians from 381 ACE onwards would have definitely kept records of christians from prior centuries that agreed with them? You cannot possibly expect anyone outside your belief system to take on "faith" that christians like yourself existed back in those days.

Why shouldn't we expect to see Muslim teachings from 2000 years ago? Why didn't they write down a record of their beliefs in a time capsule 2000 years ago? Oh yeah......Muslims didn't exist back then, did they? THAT'S why we don't find records from Muslims 2000 years ago. And for the very same reason, we don't see any record of a christian like yourself from that time period either. Christians like yourself simply didn't exist then. Not until Nicea at the very least.

Because it is written in the nt that Jesus stated that the gates of hell shall not prevail against His church. The church, built up Jesus being the Messiah, the Son of God, which Peter under inspiration from the Holy Spirit said that of Jesus, is indestructible. So every Christian of any period must stand upon that solid ground - otherwise they are not a Christian, but something else. If they are something else, then "no", they would not be in agreement with me or any other Christian.

More blind faith. This silence from christians like yourself during those years right after the NT was finished speaks volumes. There's silence because there were no such people.

But my challenge still stands and I invite you to show evidence of just one christian who lived b/w 120-381 ACE and articulated belief in a god who exists in 3 co-equal persons. You'd think something this important would exist in some christian writings that surivived that period - considering LOTS of christian literature from that period survived the test of time.
