Hi Uri, The blood of the Pascal Lamb on the doorposts in Egypt and the sacrificial offereings on Yom Kippur did not provide the Christian kind of "salvation" - they were temporary measures that didn't provide "eternal life". They only spared people for a certain period of time, and the blood of the Pascal Lamb had nothing at all to do with the remission of sins.

Those who had the blood at their doors were "passed over" by death. Meaning that death shows no favorites but affects the entire human race. Without the blood, there is death.

In Christianity, the significance of death "passing over" for the Exodus to the promised land, is the second death, eternal separation from God, that is "passed over" at the afterlife judgment by God, because of the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus, is upon us, to enter the promised land, not of this earth. That's what we say is the connect.

Sins against God....Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. ...including Moses, and any human being. Symbolized by Moses not being allowed to enter the earthly promised land.

Regarding the remission of sins, that principle is that of ALL of the sins of the people on the day of Atonement were placed upon the Azazel goat; that those are taken into the wilderness, - that is, the peoples sins died with the goat upon which their sins against God were placed, outside of the city, as Jesus was crucified outside of the city. Since it was ALL of the sins of the people against God were placed upon the Azazel goat, the standard is perfection - i.e. no sins, if man is to be atoned for.

Sincerely,

Doug L.
