Rebecca take a look at John 4:20-24 this is more proof that Jesus did not teach the Trinity and that John did not believe in the Trinity.

John 4:20-24
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.
21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth

What do we learn from this Rebecca? Did those 1st century Jews or even this woman think Jesus was saying he should be worshipped or his Father should be worshipped? Jesus says clearly that the Jews worshipped what they knew. What did the Jews know? that there was one G-d manifested in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and yet one G-d sharing the same substance? No, Jesus himself said the Jews Knew G-d (YHWH). They knew G-d was one person, not three persons in one G-d.

Where can you find in these verses that the Jews believed in or knew of a Triune G-d? They didn't believe in the Trinity or something close to it. They believed that G-d was one.

Jesus also connects the title G-d to his Father and not himself. He told the woman he was the Messiah, why not go ahead and tell her that he is also G-d the Son if that is what he wanted her to know? Why not explain the Trinity?

Remember he said the hour is coming, and it is now that the true worshipers will worship the "Father" with spirt and truth.

No, Rebecca, Jesus did not teach the Trinity nor did the disciples and you will be hard put to find the Jewish people believing in the Trinity or anything that is close to it.

BTW Colossians 1:16 and Revelations 3:14 has never been sucessfully answered by any Trinitrians anywhere. Those verses prove the early church believed that Jesus before he came to earth was just a created being. So the fact remains, the disciples and the early church taught that G-d was one, they did not believe the Messiah was G-d, he was said to fear G-d remember? how could G-d even part of G-d fear himself? his nature? No, the Trinity doctrine is clearly a man made doctrine.

To try to witness to Jews about the Trinity is try to lead them into believing in a G-d that their Fathers did not know. Case Closed.

Malachi
