Chaim,
Aad established and I concurred that the phraseology and 'lingo' used by the early church fathers may very well differ in some ways from what we use today.
Just as YOUR lingo and phraseology most certainly differs from what Moses and the Israelites used in their day.

However, as I have been showing, with just this first of church fathers (and I'm afraid I do not have the time to go through each of them one by one ).... is that he saw the interchange and relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit essentially the same as we do today!

For example:

1) He identifies the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as living, and the faith and hope of the elect.

2) Not only that, but they are interacting and overlapping in their work:
"He Himself (Jesus) through the Holy Spirit thus invite thus: Come, my children, hearken unto Me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord."

Jesus is described here as relaying truth THROUGH the Holy Spirit. Who but God could possibly direct the Holy Spirit?
Who but God can relay eternal truths through the Holy Spirit?

And the Scriptures, which we know are from God, are described by Clement as having been given through the Holy Spirit. So the role of the Holy Spirit is acknowledged as being eternal.

As a math teacher, Chaim, surely you see the properties of equality developing here.

gotta go, blessings
