Blood Libel

Matthew 27:24-25 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands and said, "I am innocent of the blood of this Just person. You see to it." And all the people answered and said, "His blood be upon us and on our children." (Matthew 27:24-25)

Here we see how Matthew constructs his narrative to relieve the Romans of responsibility of Jesus crucifiction to putting the burden of the responsibility on the Jews. Pilate the Roman washes his hands of Jesus and the Jews are said by Matthew to have put Jesus blood on them. Thus Matthew has put a HEX on the Jewish people for over 1,500 years.

Thus Jews were branded with the stigma "Christ killers."

Rabbi Tovia Singer: In Matthew's Passion Narrative, the miserable fate of the Jews is completely sealed when the ruthless mob of Jews scream to the ambivalent Roman procurator "His blood be on us and on our children!" More Jews were slaughtered for that phrase than any other in the annals of western literature.

As a hypothetical question if Matthew really did write this gospel and his mother was Jewish, and he became an apostate to Judaism, is he no longer a Jew? Is he no longer a descendant of Abraham?

Same thing today, if a man has a mother who is a Jew and that man is not an adherent to Judaism is he a Jew?
What if that man was an adherent of Judaism and he converts to Christianity, is he still a Jew? and on what basis?

Maybe Jesus was the one who said that in Luke 11:51 and Luke just recorded it from Paul or one of the disciples.
