I realize that account in light of the Jewish law. It's one of the reasons given as to why they all threw down their stones. They would have committed murder by stoning a woman without the required number of witnesses, not to mention the man was strangely absent.

I produced a specific example of what was considered a hypocritical teaching. A tradition that contradicted a commandment.

You may have a better perception of people in power, but I'm not so trusting. Powerful people tend to become corrupt. And there are plenty of examples of religious leaders being corrupt and hypocritical. I don't really know what it was like back then but it seems to me like they had to tip toe around and butter up to the Roman authorities just to exist. Jesus also seemed highly upset about profit making business taking place in God's house.

As I said, based on human behavior in general, I don't believe for a second every pharisee was a model man of God. Just like every preacher isn't.

To You , O LORD, I lift up my soul; in You I trust. Psalm 25:1
