Hello MalachiII
Whatever the case may be Xians are going to argue that either Jsus was one of the G-d's of the Trinity who came to earth and took up a human container through a virgin birth. Or he was a created being sent to earth to take up a human container through a virgin birth. What I wrote in my earlier post was the doctrine held by Pentecostals, Baptist and other Conservative Xian groups. However, I do understand the Liberal view held by other Xian groups as you have presented. If you noticed the terms "Conservative and Liberal" is being used as a sort of political correctness to define whose Xian's doctrines are held as indisputable and whose doctrines are held in question.
Either view of doctrine still remains pagan in origin. In Northern Europe we see the role of the "sacred king." Here is something Margaret Murry wrote in her book:
The God of the Witches
"The incarnate god was originally the king or chief of the tribe, later his place was taken by a substitute, who was often for a time allowed the status and insignia of royalty. Mock kings who were put to death at the end of a given term, are a well know feature of early religions. The underlying meaning of the sacrifice of the divine victim is that the spirit of god takes up its abode within the human being, usually the king, WHO, thereby becomes the GIVER of fertility (so that vegetation can be born again so that life can continue) to all his kingdom.
Here is a link that Uri provided in the "Mithra's" thread. Here you find virgin birth, water baptism, being washed in the blood of the lamb, and death and resurrection in the Grecian-Roman world:

It does not matter how close to or how far from Israel we get the idea of a blood sacrifice from a sacred king was held as a saving force among the pagan world. As another poster called Dput put it...A healthy dose of paganism mixed in with a dash of Judasim = Xianity.
