Thomas, you admit yourself that you don't speak Hebrew and then you assert that you understand Genesis 18 better than those who do.

The text is very clear that G-d is already WITH Abraham in Genesis 18:1 and then in Genesis 18:2 three "men" appear.

Genesis 18:1 starts with

Quote:
"The L-rd appeared to Abraham"

How much clearer can that be? G-d is there. Now read the next line:

Quote:

2. And he (Abraham) lifted his eyes and saw, and behold, three men were standing beside him. . .

Your example of Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 aren't anything similar and yet you try to use them as a comparison. I have no idea where you get your assumption that 1:2 infers creation was complete when it says no such thing -- but it certainly doesn't infer that and it has nothing to do with the obvious chronological order of Genesis 18:1 and 2.

Genesis 1:1 starts

Quote:
"In the beginning of G-ds creation of ( .)

Not "in the beginning" Thomas, but "in the beginning of G-d's creation". . .

We can go more into detail if you like, but sorry your version of Genesis 18 doesn't fit the text.
