Your question doesn't make any sense in view of the fact that the claime was that the name "Yeshua" was very popular among Jews in those days. Whether the Rabbis chosed to discuss "yeshu" is irrelevant. I checked into the sources to see how many individuals bore the name "Yeshua" and, as I reported, in both voluminous Talmuds, there was only one instance where someone had that name. If the name was as popular as Christians claim, surely there would have been some of the hundreds of Rabbis, who were named in the Talmudic discussion, with this name. So you can safely throw out that possibility.
