It seems to me imprudent to try to continue this discussion here without referencing my (10/30/06 2:43 pm) post on the Pentecostals compared to WHAT? threadThe limits of competence and my follow-up post of (11/4/06 1:57 pm) on the Praying in the spirit thread,The limits of competence: The Edgar Cayce story ...,not to mention the entire thread,Faith, facts & unprovables. How much time and energy should one devote to seeking to discredit the framework someone else happens to use, instead of living according to the framework one claims as one's own?

The conclusion of the second post linked to here above, seems to me applicable here, too:

Any evaluation of others' beliefs, seeking conclusions, even if it is one's own FORMER belief system really isn't on one's own agenda.

The light in which you walk today: how far does it extend? Are you doing your best to walk in it (your own light) correctly? Where does the darkness (the truly unknown) begin? What are the limits of competence of your own belief today?

These are appropriate questions.
