As I wrote, I'm not a Christian nor a messianic Jew. Christians or messianic Jews are probably more capable of answering your question. That explains the bunch of "perhapses." However, I think the intentions of the writer are pretty clear: G-d made Jesus suffer death like an ordinary human being -- [only] in that aspect he was made lower than the angels. Angels don't die and don't suffer.
IMHO Paul isn't telling that G-d created Jesus, nor is he telling that Jesus' nature was lower than the angels. So, I don't think it is a checkmate; although it is an interesting move, it's not a checkmate.

As to G-d's glory, why are you asking?
