Speaking of knowing what the future would bring, I find it interesting that many Christians point to Gamaliel's statements about leaving Christianity alone to either flounder or flourish. He was allegedly quoted as saying something to the effect that if it was of God, it would flourish and if not it would go away.

Many Christians say Christianity has certainly flourished. They say "Look at the millions upon millions or even billions of christians....so as Gamaliel said, if it flourishes it must be God's will, etc.". The problem is these same christians drop the million and billion success story when faced with what "non-real" christians have done historically. "THEY" were not real-christians. And all of a sudden, christianity isn't so much a "success" story anymore.

Either the billions of christians and their acts throughout history are a success story, or not. Which is it?
