How did Zechariah the son of Barachiah died ?

Aside from the fact that the circumstances of the death of Zechariah ben Berechiah, the prophet and priest, are not given in the Hebrew Bible, this is irrelevant Highly Relevant, in fact it goes straight to the crux of the matter. Your question is, once again, a deflection. Far from it.

The author of GMatt made a mistake, since both Zechariah ben Berechiah and Zechariah ben Yehoiada were priests, except that Zechariah ben Berechiah was also the prophet whose Book is part of the Hebrew Bible. That much is well established, but Zechariah ben Berechiah's death must be established to prove anything. Both Zechariah's are seperated by almost 3 Centuries (as Netanel rightly pointed out) and can't be confused with each other !!

Matthew 23:35 clearly describes the circumstances depicted in 2Chronicles 24:20-21 Not really, you ASSUMED Jesus was refering to 2Ch. 24:20-21 !, except that the author of GMatt got the wrong Zechariah. This is just more evidence that this author didn't know much about the Hebrew Bible, let alone the Hebrew language or Judaism Conclusion based on WRONG ASSUMPTION!!. Moreover, it is just another of the hundreds of mistakes in the GT that is, according to evangelicals such as you, the infallible word of the Creator.Another conclusion based on WRONG ASSUMPTION !!!

The key to Matt.23:35 is the span of murders Jesus is referring to: "FROM the blood of righteous Abel (the first murder of the righteous) to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah (the MOST RECENT murder of the righteous at that time), whom you murdered between the Sanctuary and the altar.

Unless anyone can PROVE conclusively that Zechariah ben Berechiah did not die between the altar and the sanctuary then there's no basis for concluding Jesus (hence Matthew) had the wrong Zechariah.
