How did Zechariah the son of Barachiah died ?

Zechariah ben Berechiah's death is not recorded in the Tanach. His prophecies and hand in the building of the Second Temple, however, are preserved in the books of Zechariah and Ezra.

Zechariah ben Yehoiada, on the other hand, was stoned in the Courtyard of the Temple at the command of King Yehoash of Yehudah. His father was Kohen Gadol, and lived for 130 years.

To put into context the scope of this error in identification, Yehoash's reign ended about 240 years before the destruction of the First Temple.

Twelve Kings of Yehudah ruled from the time Zechariah ben Yehoiada was killed (there were Eighteen Kings of Yehudah total, not counting David and Solomon who ruled over the United Tribes), and the final exile to Babylon after Zedekiah.

Zechariah ben Berechiah, on the other hand, first prophecies in the second year of Darius, King of Persia, on the other side of the Babylonian Exile. The two Zechariahs are seperated by about three centuries.
