I have been reading and rereading all of these linguistically-oriented posts, and I have finally figured out why they refer back to my original question. Please hear me out. We non-Xians have to be ever-vigilant about this. It doesn't really matter whether Yeshu ever existed, or said this or that exact phrase. His teachings have been virtually ignored by most xians for the last 1700 years, anyway. What I find interesting is:
1. What does Yeshu do while on the cross? He prays. He prays as a man, because he is a man, nothing more. He asks for God to forgive his executioners. He quotes a Psalm. It doesn't matter whether he misquotes it, or the authors of the gospels got Hebrew and Aramaic confused. They were writing 3-400 years later, anyway.
2. What has impressed me the most? That the n.t. consistently quotes the LXX. I was aware that the original Septuagint only consisted of the Torah, and nothing else. However, I have to point out that the LXX Greek translations of psalms, Isaiah, and so on, consistently are quite different from the actual Hebrew. One can draw only two possible conclusions, either of which places doubt on the claims of the n.t.:
a. The n.t. really was written in the fourth century c.e.
or:
b. The LXX was indeed, a Xian forgery.
Either case invalidates the virgin birth, the son-kissing incident, the lion turning into "piercing", and much more.
It's a shame, really, that details of the life of Yeshua ben Pantera, who was probably the main model that the fictional Yeshu be Yosef is based on (I also suspect bar Kochba), have been suppressed. The real Yeshua ben Pantera was probably a real hero.
