Rabbi Daniel, thank you for your response to my question.

Another question, if I may? What's wrong with being number two? That is probably an ego issue?

The "can't we all just get along" attitude never seems to work, especially when there are countries out there who just really seem to hate everyone else, and I think even themselves and what they are as a nation, perhaps even as a single person. (Sort of like the people who aren't happy unless they've made someone else unhappy but then that doesn't work either. They keep going around making everyone miserable and then gloat in the chaos around them.) Then again, that makes me think of what America is becoming now.

If there is a preconceived notion, what's wrong with asking "Why?" I ask "why" a lot. I don't always get an answer but sometimes I get clues to search further for the answer.

I think that G-d works at His own level. We're just human, infallible. I mean, G-d created EVERYTHING. What makes people think they have a better clue than G-d does?

I just find it silly to say that G-d is cruel and evil. There's a lesson there. We just don't always see it.
