... let's straighten out the misconception that proof-texting is anything I intend to engage in.  It's not, and as long as I have participated here, Sophiee certainly should know that by now.

Second, although as of this moment I've not yet studied Sophiee's response concerning what the passage means in context — I'll do that immediately after submitting this post — context isn't necessarily everything, either.  The repeated mention of that term lately brings back bad memories of an extended exchange in which I asked Sophiee about a particular verse in 2 Samuel, and she dealt with verses before, verses after, the chapter as a whole (absent the one verse) — anything and everything (the kitchen sink, the price of eggs in Denmark, etc.) but the one specific verse about which I asked.  I have no awareness as yet that this may be happening here.  But sooner or later one does need to look at the specific words themselves.
