Didn't Irenaeus (one of those ante-Nicene Fathers of whom Proteus' speaks) say that Jesus lived to an old age?

More contradictions! Plus he lived in the late 2nd century of the common era.

As I've said repeatedly: we'll never know exactly where or how Christianity began -- let alone if there was a real person (or multiple people) that like Topsy "grew." But it seems clear that there were hundreds of stories -- contradictory (Marcion's ghost Isu, Irenaeus' old age Jesus and so forth) that make it impossible for anyone to believe in this religion.

Well, anyone who actually looks into it.

It seems that most followers are enamored of the emotions they feel and don't want to actually research their "faith." I watched a clip on Youtube today of Mike Evans (an apostate Jew) explaining how his Christian father beat his Jewish mother -- and on one occasion his father strangled him to the point of unconsciousness. He says he awoke and had a vision of Jesus holding out loving hands to him and this is how he decided Jesus was "real."

Wonder which one. . . Marcion's ghost, Irenaeus' old man or Paul's epileptic seizure vision?
