Please be sure to be aware that the views I expressed in Reply No. 307 differ markedly from traditional Christianity.

Is it not, nonetheless, a "gift" most people seek to avoid?  To act completely as a free agent, not depending on intuition of "God's will" or on Jesus ... is something many if not most Christians never consider; and offhand it seems to me, this may spell a defect in traditional Christianity.

Previous pages of this thread include posts in which I spilled at length about related concepts — the question of the nature of time, etc.

I didn't say anything about "traditional xianity", I was responding to the 'tone' of your post.

I don't see any indication that most people seek to avoid the challenge of their free-will. On the contrary, many revolutions and movements currently occuring around the world are people that are demanding more ability to make their own choices instead of being dictated to by their respective governments.

As far as defects in xianity, I think there are a lot. One of which is a built-in dodge for their adherents sense of personal responsibility giving them an 'evil entity' to blame their woes on instead of on their own free will choices.
