As far as defects in xianity, I think there are a lot. One of which is a built-in dodge for their adherents sense of personal responsibility giving them an 'evil entity' to blame their woes on instead of on their own free will choices.

That seems to me to be substantially similar.

If it sounds as if the necessary is especially challenging to me, that may be because it is — right now — as I am having to face up to these things in a way I've never had to before.  And again, the POV in question departs from traditional Christianity, meaning I'm more or less out on a limb and, to mix metaphors, in uncharted territory.
