Prophecy is a direct form of communication of man to G-d.  G-d communicates Himself to prophets (not through angels) -- in the case of Moses He spoke directly with Moses.  Other prophets spoke with G-d through visions and prayers.

It may be that I simply don't understand these points.  Did you mean "of God to man"?  "G-d spoke with other prophets"?

The definition of a prophet is one who communicates directly with G-d and then in turn communicates His message to others -- particularly of their own generation.   It is communication of man to G-d and of G-d to man.   Prophecy is a pretty direct form of communication -- but the words spoken by the prophets are G-d's words. . . not their own words.    Being moved by His spirit, OTOH, is a person using their own thoughts and words to convey G-d's messages.  It is a less direct form of contact.
