Eli, ignoring facts does not bolster your case.   Neither does your derisive tone.   You are picking on one word (out of context as is typical with missionaries) and ignoring all the facts.

Moshe Alshich (aka the Holy Al Sheich) was a member of the Kabbalist Isaac Luria (the Holy Ari) group.   Alshich's role was to write sermons.

As I've pointed out numerous times already,  he states that the messiah in question is King David (not "the" messiah).   I also noted that the quote only refers to Isaiah 52:13 -- and not to all of Isaiah 53.

All of these pesky facts you seem desirous to ignore.

The Al Sheick says that the suffering servants are the righteous (excluding the messiah):
From the fact of the rabbis expounding the previous verses of the Messiah, it may be seen that these speak of the righteous who endure in the present world the chastisements of love; and therefore I maintain that up to this point we have had the words of God announcing the greatness of the Messiah
He applies the last verses to Moses.

Taking the words of a Kabbalistic mystic whose role was to deliver sermons and insist that he can change historical fact (not all rabbis said the servant even in Isaiah 52 was King David) is patently ridiculous.   Can I quote to you the words of some televangelist about Jesus and insist that all Christian ministers agree with him?   You're still taking his words out of context - and whether or not he said it was literal, it clearly was NOT literal.

I suggest you read Rabbi Moshe Shulman's article on Alsheich.  He goes into great detail. Link.
