my own simple explanation to this.
first ask yourselves... who were the builders of the temple? were they Jews/Israelites, or were they None Jews?
that's right, none Jews, who at large rejected Am Israel and Judaic approach to scripture.
also the CT authors really tried to have JC mirror David's life, so David being inspired with holy spirit, made sure to strengthen HIS and his PROGENY's claim to the throne by writing about the corner stone is David, Am Israel, and the Foundation and plaza to the temple which HE David had constructed, which WAS in past tense!!! wondrous in the eyes of the people.
now since Christians want us to take their CT seriously, we must assume that JC is not David's progeny therefor he cannot have claim to the throne, which is secured for David's true heir may he come quickly in our days.
to summarize, it was David who established the corner stone of the temple plaza, it is there in a place where our sages of blessed memory promised would never be destroyed, not by siege engines neither by false teachings.
