1) Yes.

The messiah will be a human being born of human parents (who have sex). His father will be of Davidic descent through Solomon. He will fulfill the prophecies -- all of them. He will live. He will die.

Quote:
Ezekiel 46:16-17 (16) Thus says the L-rd G-d: "If the Prince gives a gift to any of his sons, it is his inheritance to remain in their possession; it is their property by inheritance. (17) But if he gives a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his [the servant's] until the year of liberty, and then it returns to the Prince; only to his sons shall his inheritance belong.

If he doesn't die they don't inherit. He is, after all, human.

2) Yes.

We will always pray directly to G-d and only to G-d.

The messiah will do great things because he is the servant of G-d. We worship G-d, we do not worship servants. We don't worship Moses. We don't worship Abraham, Isaac or Jacob. It is forbidden to pray through or to an intermediary.

We do not even have to 'accept' the messiah. It is up to him to fulfill the prophecies thus proving who he is. It will be obvious.
