Shalom Sophiee,

The messiah will be a human being born of human parents (who have sex). His father will be of Davidic descent through Solomon. He will fulfill the prophecies -- all of them. He will live. He will die.

Ezekiel 46:16-17 (16) Thus says the L-rd G-d: "If the Prince gives a gift to any of his sons, it is his inheritance to remain in their possession; it is their property by inheritance. (17) But if he gives a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his [the servant's] until the year of liberty, and then it returns to the Prince; only to his sons shall his inheritance belong.

If he doesn't die they don't inherit. He is, after all, human.

This text doesn't say that the Messiah will die. This just says that the prince can't claim back the gifts he gives to his sons, but it remains their inheritance. Look at verse 17. If the gift is given to a servant, then the prince can claim it back in the year of Liberty. So this is not about Messiah dying and leaving his inheritance behind for his sons. This is what is being said about the Messianic age:

8 He will swallow up death for ever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of His people will He take away from off all the earth; for the LORD hath spoken it. (Isaiah 25)

So there will be no more death.

We do not even have to 'accept' the messiah. It is up to him to fulfill the prophecies thus proving who he is. It will be obvious.

WOW! This is quite a statement. We aren't to reject him either, are we? Or be indifferent towards him? Or thwart him? Back in Egypt, the people had to accept the works of Moses and listen to every word he said too, right? So how aren't we to "accept" the Messiah then.

Shalom
