Hi Sophiee, It makes more sense to think that 1 Samuel is saying "G-d your L-rd who brought you out of Egypt says that this day you have rejected the rulers who saved you from adversity" (e.g. the judges). Elohim can translate to that as easily as to "G-d."(plural).

What does this different verse in 1 Samuel say to you? 1Samuel kjv 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

Samuel would not be praying to the judges. So when it says the LORD said unto Samuel, it means God is saying to Samuel. As you read that verse, what does it mean to you as far as who is rejected and in what capacity?

Peace,

Doug L.
