SearchingMyRoots - "What I mean by the new Jerusalem church (and maybe I'm calling it by the wrong name) is the church that jc's brother James formed who disagreed with Paul's teaching's ans eventually disappeared. "

Sorry for the delayed response. If you look at the book of Acts, starting at 21:17 and reading through chapter 22:22, you will see that James did not disagree with Paul. The Jerusalem church welcomed him warmly. They praised G-d when Paul reported what G-d had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. They told him that there had been false reports about him and encouraged him to publicly demonstrate his respect for the Law. They themselves agreed with Paul that Gentiles need not be circumsised and follow the law of Moses ( basically convert to Judaisim) to be followers of Messiah.

The trouble started when Jews from the province of Asia, who were not part of the church, saw Paul at the temple and began accusing him falsely. Once he had a chance to address his accusers, the thing that made them angry was his claim that G-d had sent him to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. This was not James or the Jerusalem church who opposed Paul - they welcomed him, rejoiced in what G-d had done through his ministry, and agreed with him concerning the Gentiles. I demonstrated in an earlier post that Peter also agreed. So, I think what some call "Pauline Christianity" is simply the Gospel.
