My point is that 100% of the disciples were profoundly changed that they spent the rest of their life's traveling to different countries to spread the gospel message....were persecuted and were eventually killed.

And the Jews on Masada, in their final stand against the Romans, prefered to commit mass suicide, rather than be captured by the Romans and submit to their pagan ideology. Sorry, Douggg, but the account of the disciples (assuming it really happened) proves NOTHING to me.

Quote:
Following the disciples, called apostles after experiencing the resurrected Jesus - not everyone who heard the gospel became Christians. Nor does everyone who hears the Judaism theology embraces it, even among Jews. The conversion rate is not 100%. Far from it. But in the case of the disciples - it was 100%.

Judaism, unlike Xtianity, is NOT a proselytizing creed, so there is NO analogy here.

Quote:
No-one today was there with the disciples as they experienced the risen Jesus, nor is anyone alive today who experienced the national revelation at Mt. Sinai. We go by what we are taught and read about or drawn to - which differs us from those who experienced directly. Since our belief rate is far from 100%, while the disciples was 100% with total commitment even to death - it seems to me that is proof what they experienced was true.

As has been discussed on other threads, ad naseum, there is a difference between a whole nation witnessing an event (the revelation at Mt. Sinai) versus a few individuals witnessing an event (the resurrection of Jsus). The former is next to impossible, if not impossible to hoax, while the latter is quite easy to hoax. However, it doesn't end there. Xtianity also accepts the revelation at Mt. Sinai as authentic, so this event is no less of a foundation to Xtianity, then it is to Judaism.

At any rate, if total commitment to death is "proof of TRUTH", then how about all the Jews who died with the Shema on their lips, rather than converting to Xtianity? Maybe this proves Judaism to be the true faith? Douggg, I understand you consider those disciples of Jsus who gave up their lives your heroes and I don't intend to mock your admiration for them, but this proves NOTHING, anymore than crashing planes into skyscrapers in the name of Allah proves anything.
